Maybe cynicism leads me to
believe this, but most of the time a little bit of cynicism can make life
easier. There will be those that will (and not without justification) assert
that if juxtaposed the ideas in Thoughts
from the Tao-te Ching and The
Qualities of the Price will appear idealist and relatively pragmatic
respectively. While this may be true to an extent, as Lao Tzu is overall more
idealistic, each has some applications in modern western societies, despite
their flaws.
